Supervised Student Clinic
The Acupressure Therapy Institute offers a Student Clinic open to the public. Sessions are
supervised by one of ATI's faculty. Your participation enables us to assist our students in
advanced training in a clinical setting. Clinic sessions are individualized treatments based on
assessment principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Treatment is given fully clothed either
seated in a massage chair or on futon mats on the floor. We do not use oils or liniments.
Acupressure is a gentle pressing type therapy along specific energy channels with an emphasis on
Acupressure points for releasing blocks and balancing Qi
(see What is Acupressure Shiatsu?).
Students write up cases and keep notes on each session. During clinic seminar, the students
discuss individual cases with the faculty in a learning setting. All information is kept secure
and confidential under HIPAA guidelines.
We offer two different student clinics: Chair Acupressure Seated Sessions and
Acupressure Shiatsu Mat Treatments. Sessions are by appointment only. Plan ahead and call
early because we tend to book quickly!

| A short 8-9 week session to help you transition through
the seasons. Spring and fall is the time for renewal and a good time to do cleanses and harmonizing treatments.
Chair Acupressure is a seated session using an
adjustable massage chair. Treatment focuses on releasing the neck, shoulders, back and hips.
Pressure, percussion and special Acupressure point combinations are used to release tension
and to bring balance to the body as a whole. Sessions are 30min and we recommend that you come
weekly for a series of treatments for the most benefit.
NEW! ATI is currently involved in a
pilot off-site Free Student Clinic at Children's Hospital through Family Services.
Students may participate in treating parents and family members whose children are in-patients at Children's Hospital.
We are currently having a clinic once a week at the Devon Nicole House which is a residential house for parents.
This is an invaluable service to support the parents and reduce their stress. It is also an opportunity for
students to practice within a hospital setting and do community outreach.
We hope that this will continue to become a
permanent ATI off-site Free Student Clinic.
