It is recommended that those interested in attending the January 2009 program enroll in
the Anatomy & Physiology 100-hr course that is taught as five weekends beginning in July 2008 through November 2008.

| Chair Acupressure session involves being seated in a special massage chair that supports the arms, neck and head and allows relaxation of the back and shoulders. The recipient wears loose clothing. Treatment includes release of tension especially in the neck, shoulders and back using meridian stretching, shiatsu finger-pressure and other energetic Japanese techniques. A session is usually 30-40 minutes.

Infant Massage Parent Educator Certification Training |
4-day training: Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm July 7-10, 2008

| Prerequisite: Open to bodyworkers, acupuncturists and chiropractors
Infant Massage Parent Educator Certification Training is a comprehensive four-day program led by
Jody Wright of Infant Massage USA. Included in the course is a three-day parent/baby infant
massage class that students watch and practice teach in, information on working with families with
children with special needs, babies born prematurely, drug-exposed infants, and older children,
development of teaching skills, in-depth stroke instruction, marketing information for parent-baby
courses, and much more.
This is a Parent Educator program, not a hands-on certification. The
tuition includes all infant massage reading material, but students will need to bring a doll or
purchase one from the instructor ($45). At the end of this training, and on completion of a
follow-up exam and practicum, you will become a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM).
Instructor: Jody Wright is one of the founders of the international Association of Infant Massage,
located in Sweden (www.iaim.net). She has worked with parents and babies for 25 years, as an
infant massage instructor and trainer (www.infantmassageusa.org).
$650 includes materials, books, training, certifiation and first year membership in Infant
Massage, USA. $100 deposit required with remaining $550 due first day of training. 56 CE hrs for massage therapists, 28 CE hrs for nurses

Acuyoga integrates traditional yoga postures and movements with Asian meridian stretches and acupressure points.

be applying advanced assessment and treatment techniques. Acupressure can help headaches,
menstrual issues, digestive issues, back pain, stress and more. You will get greater benefits from

NOTE: Pilot Research Project on Fibromyalgia
The Acupressure Therapy Institute is joining a national research initiative to investigate the
benefit of Acupressure therapy for fibromyalgia. ATI is collaborating with the Zen Shiatsu
Chicago Institute and the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (ENH) Integrative Medicine
Department, IL. The goal of the research is to measure the effectiveness of Acupressure and Shiatsu therapy for fibromyalgia.
To participate in this study you must receive at least 5 Acupressure treatments in an 8-week period at the ATI Student Clinic.
A 15-min. questionnaire needs to be completed before the first treatment and after the last.
